Tuttle Creek Dam forms Tuttle Creek Lake on the Big Blue River in northeast Kansas. Construction was completed by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1962 in order to provide flood control protection to the surrounding communities.

This project required complete rehabilitation of service gates 3 and 4, replacement of seals and cathodic protection on service gate 1, complete rehabilitation of the emergency gate, and painting the embedded conduit steel liners downstream of the service gates. The service gate repair included replacement of the welded stainless wheel rims with forged rims, inspection and repair of structural welds, and blasting and painting of the gate. The wheel bearings were replaced and new anodes were installed on the gates.
