Modifications to Floodway BulkheadsLocks and Dam #2, Monongahela RiverThis project included electrical refurbishment, concrete removal and repairs, sandblasting, lead abatement, painting of bulkheads and the control structure, replace seals on bulkheads, steel modifications to bulkhead structure including replacement of all cables and guide rollers, and alignment of bulkhead rails. We used a marine plant to remove and transport the bulkheads and control structure to our work area and to reinstall the units after refurbishment.

Replace Low Flow ValvesCanton and Ft. Supply Dams, OKThis project included replacing two 2’ diameter low flow valves at Canton Dam and two 3’ diameter low flow valves at Ft. Supply Dam. We used a divers to install rubber plugs with an engineered hold back system to block the flow of water so we could replace the valves.

Installation of Replacement Gate LeafRuedi Dam, COThis project consisted of placement and removal of bulkheads underwater using divers and floating plant with a hydraulic crane. Demolition of existing elevator support steel and hydraulic piping in a 220’ shaft. Engineering and removal of the gate operating hydraulic cylinder, reconditioning of gate leaf seals, replacement of the gate leaf, replacement of the cylinder hydraulic lines, and addition of electrical conduit from the control room to the hydraulic cylinders. Engineering and installing an electrical man-basket to be used in the shaft and engineering, fabrication, and installing steel cover over the shaft opening.
Rehabilitation and Painting of Sluice GatesToronto Dam, KSThis project consisted of placing bulkheads in the water to close off the conduit flow. Removal and reinstallation of the sluice gate hydraulic operating equipment. Removal and replacement of the sluice gates. Lead abatement, sandblasting, and vinyl painting of six sluice gates and conduit liners.
Paint Service Gates and LinersCouncil Grove Lake Dam, KSThis project consisted of blast cleaning and painting two service gates, one emergency gate, and two conduit liners. Including replacing the service and emergency gate seals and anodes. The water leakage in the conduit had to be controlled by installing temporary dams and pumps. The roller chain guards, roller chains, and sheaves were dismantled prior to painting.
Sluice Gate Painting and Rehabilitation of SealsFort Gibson Dam, OKThis project consisted of lead abatement and painting of the sluice gates and conduit liners. Replacing the brass seals on the gate and in the gate frame. Field machining the bottom of the sluice gates. Performing Babbitt repair and field machining of the Babbitt for the bottom seal in the gate frame. The gate cylinders and bonnets had to be disassembled in order to remove the gate from the conduit for repair.
Repair and Paint Lower Miter GatesRobert S. Kerr L&D 15, OKThis project consisted of cutting out corroded steel members, fabricating and welding in new steel members. Blast cleaning and painting the downstream lock miter gate. Installing new cathodic protection on the gate. Repairing the belzona seals on the gate.
Rehabilitation of Service Intake GatesWister Lake Dam, OkThis project consisted of replacing the bottom brass gate seal in the conduit gate frame. The seal was bolted in horizontally and had to be sawed out in pieces. The new seal was drilled and tapped into the conduit lining in the vertical position. Dams had to be installed on both sides of the seal and pumps were set up on the upstream side. One low flow valve along with associated piping, supports, and grating were replaced. The gates were painted and weld repairs were performed.

Replace Hatch CoversHulah and Ft Gibson Lake Dams, OKThis project consisted of supplying and installing new road hatch covers on top of two dam roads. The work included traffic control, cleaning and painting the hatch cover frames and superstructure, installing new hatch covers, and sealing the covers.
Repair of Tainter Gate Seal Plates and Eroded Concrete SurfacesW.D. Mayo Lock and Dam No. 14, OKThis project consisted of replacing the tainter gate seal plate that is embedded in the concrete weir below the tainter gate, replacing the eroded concrete on the gate weir, installing a seal on the bottom of the gate, painting the bottom 3-foot of the gate, installing upstream stop logs, engineering, fabricating, and installing downstream stop logs.
Tainter Gate RepairWaterbury Dam, VTThis project consisted of replacing the embedded side seal plates on one tainter gate and replacing the side seals and gate side guide rollers on three tainter gates. This included jack hammering out the embedded seal plates, installing the new seal plates, engineering and installing formwork and placing concrete in the forms.
Spillway Gate RepairsFolsom Dam, CAThis project consisted of replacing radial gate seals, inspecting and aligning existing fall protection systems, designing, furnishing, and installing safety closures and ladder-guards at the ends of gate catwalks, performing spillway bridge repairs using an under-bridge unit, spot painting the gates, painting the gate operating machinery, and replacing the guardrail on the upper deck of the dam.
Roller Chain InstallationOahe Dam, SDThis project consisted of replacing, removing existing, and reinstallation of 4 new roller assemblies on each of 6 large hydro-power gates for a total of 24 chain assemblies.
Repair of Intake Bulkheads and Spillway StoplogsHarry S. Truman Power Plant, MOThis project consisted of weld repairs and spot painting of two intake bulkheads and 8 spillway stoplogs. 
Replace Raw Water Intake StrainersOahe Dam, SDThis project consisted of supplying and installing seven water strainers at the Oahe Power Plant. Other work included removing of existing strainers, installing a butterfly valve onto the strainer, pipe fitting, pipe insulation, and painting.
Rehabilitate Auxiliary Tow Haulage, Locks 3, 4, 5, & 6Locks 3, 4, 5, & 6 Arkansas RiverThis project consisted of supplying and installing auxiliary winch systems to pull barges into the lock chambers at locks 3, 4, 5, & 6 on the Arkansas River. The winch systems were pneumatic Ingersoll Rand winches. The project included fabricating and mounting winch stands, air piping, and electrical work.
Reinforce Bridge GirderTenkiller Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of reinforcing one dam bridge girder beam. This included fabricating a reinforcing plate, setting scaffolding, blast cleaning and painting the bridge girder and reinforcing plate, installing the reinforcing plate by heat expansion, and performing strain gauge readings on the girder.
Spot Paint Gantry CranesOahe Dam, SDThis project consisted of lead abatement and spot painting two gantry cranes at the Oahe Dam Powerhouse.
Replace Tainter Gate Flat Wire RopeTenkiller Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of replacement of flat wire rope and connecting pins on ten tainter gates, two wire ropes per gate. The existing wire rope pins were removed by torch cutting and jacking. The new wire ropes were installed, synchronized, test operated, and the limit switches were re-set.
Rehabilitate and Paint Tainter GatesJohn Redmond Lake Dam, KSThis project consisted of rehabilitation and painting two tainter gates. The work included setting of bulkheads, controlling water leakage, white metal blast cleaning, gate weld inspection and repair, coating the gates with system no. 5-E-Z vinyl paint, replacing the gate side and bottom seal assemblies, replacing cathodic protection, tension adjusting the gate operating cables, and synchronizing the gates. 
Gate Rehabilitation and Penstock CoatingSeminoe and Kortes Dams, WYThis project consisted of rehabilitation and painting of six ring follower gates. The work included setting bulkheads, water control, remove gate operating cylinders and drive systems, removal of gates, heavy lifting crane work, replacement of gate and conduit frame seals, field machining conduit frame seals, lead abatement, containment, weld repairs, and cold tar epoxy painting the gates and penstocks, reinstall gates and operating machinery, and gate testing.
Radial Gate RehabilitationHeadgate Rock Dam, AZThis project consisted of rehabilitation of 10 radial gates. This included installing new J-bulb seals on the stoplogs, setting the stoplogs, water control, removal of gates with a crane, lead abatement by containment and blast cleaning, structural repair and weld repair, painting, gate seal replacement, trunnion pin and bushing replacement, seal plate replacement, wire rope replacement, synchronizing the gate, setting limit switches and testing.
Replace Sluice GatesTygart Lake Dam, WVThis project consisted of providing and installing 7 new sluice gates. This included setting a bulkhead, dewatering, removal of the hydraulic operating cylinder and bonnet cover, removal of the existing sluice gate, gate seats, babbitt seal, and sill assemble. Removal and replacement of two gate frame cavitation plates. Blast cleaning and painting the inside of the bonnet and bonnet cover. Reinstallation of a new sill assembly including a babbitt seal and field machining the babbitt seal. Installation of new gate seats, new gate, and existing gate operating cylinder. Blast cleaning and painting two low flow valves. Handrail modification and trench cover fabrication and installation. 
Plug One Sluice GateCanton Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of installing a concrete plug in one sluice gate conduit to reduce future maintenance work. This included moving sluice gates and operating machinery to other conduit locations, installing a steel cover over the air vent opening, replacing the operating machinery wire ropes on 4 units, electrical work, and installing a new roof system on three control house buildings.
Radial Gate RepairsNimbus Dam, CAThis project consisted of rehabilitating three radial gates. This included installation of a articulating bulkhead, dewatering, full containment, lead abatement, blast cleaning and painting, weld repairs, installing new wire rope and wear pads, new gate seals, refurbishing side guide shoes, and designing and installation of a cathodic protection system.
Rehabilitation and Painting of Tainter GatesKaw Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of rehabilitating two tainter gates and stoplogs. This included weld repair and painting stoplogs, traffic control, installation of stoplogs, dewatering gate bay, blast cleaning tainter gates, weld and pit repair, painting tainter gates, installing new gate seals, cathodic protection, and installation of new tainter gate wire rope assemblies.

Head Gate RehabilitationKeystone Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of rehabilitating four intake gates, dogging devices, and cable blocks. This included engineering a crane placement plan, removal of the intake gates from the dam, blast cleaning, weld repair, painting, fabricate and install new roller chains, furnish and install new J-bulb seals, furnish and install cathodic protection, reinstallation of the gates, and testing.
Hatch Cover SealantFt Gibson Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of replacing the joint sealant on the dam bridge hatch covers, fixed deck joints, and expansion deck joints. This included traffic control, removal of existing joint material, concrete repair, blast cleaning the joints, and installing new joint sealant.
Replace Tainter Gate ChainsHulah Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of replacing gate operating chains on 10 tainter gates and replacing the brakes on 10 tainter gate drive assemblies and fully refurbishing 2 tainter gate brake assemblies. This included traffic control, crane placement plan on the dam bridge, fabricating new tainter gate chains, installing the new chains, synchronizing the gates, and setting limit switches.
Replace Low Flow ValveFt Supply Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of replacing one low flow butterfly valve with a knife valve. This included using divers to install a rubber plug in the upstream side of the low flow pipe, installing a new knife valve along with new pipe spool sections, and electrical hookups. We also replaced the gantry crane lifting hook.
Rehabilitate and Paint Power Intake Gates, Draft Tube Gates, and BulkheadsR.S. Kerr Powerhouse, OKThis project consisted of rehabilitating 4 intake gates, 6 draft tube gates, and 6 bulkhead gates. This included removal of gates using cranes, containment, lead abatement, blast cleaning, weld repair, painting, new gate rollers, new gate seals, cathodic protection, re-installation, and testing.
Oklahoma Area Maintenance ProjectsWebber Falls L&D #16, Webber Falls Powerhouse, R.S. Kerr L&D #15, & Broken Bow Lake, OKThis project consisted of rehabilitating the lock tainter valves at L&D #15 & #16, painting transformer equipment at Webber Falls Powerhouse, and rehabilitating the service bridge and removal of trash rack debris at Broken Bow Lake. The tainter valve repair consisted of setting bulkheads, dewatering, removal of the valves, blast cleaning, steel repair, painting, cathodic protection, new J-bulb seals, reinstallation of the valves, and testing. The broken bow service bridge work included, scaffolding, cleaning and painting service bridge, provide and install expansion joint gutters and scupper extensions, scarify top of bridge deck, and treat concrete with penetrating water repellent. The trash rack debris removal consisted of using divers to remove the debris, load it on a work boat, and burn the wood debris.
Replace Tainter Gate Hoisting ConnectionsBeaver Lake Dam, ARThis project consisted of removing the existing tainter gate wire rope to gate connections, furnishing new connections, and installing the new connections. This included setting bulkheads, water control, removal of gate connectors, blast cleaning and painting the gate lugs and new connectors, installing the new connections, wire rope tensioning, and setting gate limit switches.
Replacement of Wire RopesKeystone Dam, OK, Eufaula Dam, OK, Hugo Dam, OK, and Marion Dam, KSThis project consisted of replacing the wire rope at Keystone, Eufaula, Hugo, and Marion dams. Including setting bulkheads, water control, removing the existing wire ropes, replacing with Government supplied wire ropes, adjusting the tension, and setting the limit switches. 
Replace Service and Emergency GatesPine Creek Lake, OKThis project consisted of replacing two service gates and two emergency gates. This included furnishing new service and emergency gates, furnishing new gate stems, removal of the gate hydraulic operating system, removal of gates, replacement of gate frame seals, installation of new gates, installing the new gate systems, and reinstalling the existing hydraulic operating system. We also replaced the air vent grading and repaired the conduit hatch covers.
Gate Stem ReplacementJennings Randolph Lake, WVThis project consisted of rebuilding two service gate and two emergency gate hydraulic operating cylinders and refurbishing two low flow valves and rebuilding the cylinders. This included setting a bulkhead, dewatering, engineering and installing a gate support system, cylinder removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation. Rebuilding the cylinders including new stem shafts, bushings, piston rings, boring out the cylinders, and new seals and packing.
Repair Sluice Gate and Frame SealsTenkiller Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of removing the existing sluice gate and sluice gate frame seals, re-machining the seals flat and true, blast cleaning and painting under the seals, re-installing the seals, and testing the adjusting the sluice gates for proper operation.
Temperature Control Device (TCD) Wire Rope ReplacementShasta Lake Dam, CAThis project consisted of replacing the wire rope and connecting links on (17) TCD gates. This included furnishing new wire rope and links, removal of existing wire rope and connecting links, installation of new wire rope and connecting links, adjusting and testing the wire ropes and gates, touch up painting, and traffic control.
Repair Flood Control Tunnel Outlet Works GatesOahe Dam, SDThis project consisted of providing and installing new outlet works gate chains on four service gates. Replacing cathodic protection on four service gates and two emergency gates and sheaves. Replacing the seal assembly on one service gate. Repairing the guide rail on one service gate slot.
Replace Service Gate, Wire Rope, and Repair Well LinerOologah Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of replacing service gate no. 4, replacing and field machining the gate frame seals, repairing the well liner, replacing the low flow valve, replacing the fill valve operating extension, and replacing the wire rope on service gates 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Rehabilitate and Paint Levee Gates and Levee Discharge ConduitsCleveland Levee, Cleveland OKThis project consisted of rehabilitating six slide gates which included disassembly, blast cleaning, weld and pit repair, seal refurbishment, painting, new gate stems and hardware, and reinstallation. Rehabilitating six flap gates including removal, blast cleaning, pit repair, seal repair, painting, and reassembly. Four conduit pipes were slipped lined.
Replace Tainter Gate ChainsNorfork Dam, ARThis was a design build project to replace the (12) tainter gate operating chains with a wire rope operating system. This included removal of the existing operating chains, chain sprockets, and chain attachment lugs to the gate. Installing new wire rope sheaves, new gate hitch blocks, and new wire ropes. Tensioning the wire ropes and setting the limit switches. Blast cleaning and painting the new hitch block assemblies.
Replace Service Gate #3Oologah Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of replacing service gate no. 3, replacing and field machining the gate frame seals, replacing and painting the well liner, replacing the fill valve extension, and rehabilitating the lower sheave assembly.

The project also consisted of furnishing and installing a new rail turntable at the powerhouse.
Conduit and Parabolic Spillway RepairsAddicks and Barker Dams, TXThis project consisted of repairing conduit expansion joints and parabolic repairs to both Addicks and Barker dams. This included, dewatering water control, expansion joint repairs, anchoring heavy steel plates to the spillway concrete using adhesive Hilti anchors.
Repair 10 Tainter Gates – Hatch CoversTenkiller Lake Dam, OKThis project consisted of rehabilitation and painting of 20 sets of hatch covers on the dam bridge, rehabilitating 11 sets of bridge expansion joints, rehabilitation and painting of the tainter gate operating hoist platforms, blast cleaning and painting the downstream sides of 10 tainter gates, spot painting the upstream side of 10 tainter gates, heat straighten two tainter gate bent flanges, weld repairs, and tensioning the flat wire ropes on 10 tainter gates.

Replace Gate Chamber Ladders and LandingsHeart Butte Dam, NDThis project consisted of replacing the fabricating new ladders and landings, providing traffic control, removing the existing ladders and landings, and installing new ladders and landings.
Rehab Outlet Works Regulating Gates Number 5 & 6Oahe Dam, SDThis project consisted of removing two hydraulically operated Outlet Work gates from the gate slots, rehabilitating them on site, reinstalling them back in the slots, reinstalling the hydraulic operator system, and conducting leak testing. Rehabilitation of the gates included blasting and painting by a QP-1 and QP-2 certified painting subcontractor, use of a Class I containment system for abrasive blasting, removal and refurbishment of all gate wheels, installation of new gate seals, CWI inspection of the gates along with completion of identified weld repairs, and replacement of the rod anodes and anode supports. Painting of the Outlet Works conduit liners was also included in this project. This required setting an emergency gate, water control in the conduit, and blasting and painting of the liner.

Denison Powerhouse Crane – Gearbox RehabilitationLake Texoma – Denison Dam, TXThis project consisted of removing, rebuilding, and reinstalling 7 gearboxes on the powerhouse 225 – ton bridge crane. This included precision laser alignment, dynamic balancing of the hoist motors, gear oil replacement, and gear alignment.
Miscellaneous Improvements ProjectMorris Sheppard Dam, TXThis project involved removal and replacement of piping and valves that operate the bear trap style flow control gates at the dam. It also included construction of a new access stairway as well as railing replacement and electrical upgrades. The project required a coordinated water supply shutdown with the downstream fish hatchery.

Replace Discharge ValvesIron Bridge Dam, TXThis project involved removal and replacement of two 20″ butterfly valves with 20″ motor actuated knife gate valves and associated piping. Since the valves control water supply flow to downstream communities the work needed to be performed at night within a limited time shutdown window.
